using aircraft cable

I have two pipe poles anchored into cement that are 23 feet apart. Can I thread aircraft cable through my grommets and then attach the wires well to pipe poles? There would be no center support or other support, only the two end poles. You think this will hold tight and not slide down or ride up provided I have tensioners on the cable?
